Happiness, Day 3

Laminating.

I should probably go ahead and confess that I am an OSJ. Office Supply Junkie. I dig the little stuff like post-its and paper clips. I get a little verclempt when I open a new package of neon-colored note cards, and I'm not sure I have the time this morning to extol the virtues of the Retractible Sharpie. Office supplies in general really "blow my hair back". Even though we home school, we still go to the back to school sales and restock all of our supplies. Mom's gettin' crazy! New crayons for everyone!! Oh, and don't EVEN get me started on the OfficeMax Store Closing sale from a few weeks ago. I bought cartridges for printers I don't even own! They were so cheap, I figured I could give them away or sell 'em in a garage sale.

For a long time, I've requested odd things as birthday/Christmas/Mother's Day gifts. I've asked for, and received: bath towels, a new electric outlet (in a place where I really needed one), a utility ladder, one six-foot distressed cherry bookcase, a subscription to the pantyhose club...

But, the one that makes me happy every time I look at it is the laminating machine. OOOOOHHHHH, I love to laminate! I got to laminating once, and the little Rednecks all ran for the hills, a-fearin' they were next! We've got luggage tags (natch), chore cards, mulitplication tables, weekly menus, recipe cards, and locks of baby hair. I am the envy of all my home school friends, and they know who to call when it's time to make a write 'n' wipe map of ancient Mesopotamia.

Now I'm campaigning for a die-cut set.

A laminating machine? Oh, I AM jealous! ;) My favorite thing is pens. I have a fettish for them. NOT the cheap Bic kind, but the really wonderful, flowy kind. I espeically love the gripper handles at the bottom. Okay, I'm sounding like an addict, so I'll stop now.

Oh, PENS! The gel ones that write real smooth, but don't drag between words, and the ink dries instantly so there's no smudging!

I usually do my personal correspondence in green, and they just started carrying them in green! So many things to be happy about!

Ah, the retractable Sharpie.

Proof, in my opinion, that God loves us and wants us to be happy. :-)
