Starbucks, we have a problem

Well, you know how kids always want whatever the big folks have, right? So little Baby Redneck was angling for what was in my cup not too long ago, and I gave her a sip because most kids are turned off by coffee. 75% of mine won't touch the stuff. How was I supposed to know?

This morning, she threw one of her Bona Fide, Card-Carrying Two-Year-Old, Wall- Eyed Ringtail Hissy Fits.

Why?

Because I wouldn't give her the first drink of my cappuccino! I have a Toddler Coffee Monster. She'll stick her whole head in my mug to get every last drop of any coffee-type beverage.

Is that bad?

I do drink decaf after my first cappuccino of the day, so the chances for her to be terminally hopped-up are minimal. I'm more perturbed by the aforementioned Fit than by her affection for coffee.

Welcome to the Tumultuous Twos; we hope you enjoy your stay.

May the Force be with us.

haha... my mom made the same mistake with my DOG. She thought the dog would hate it. She just didn't know that in every competition that very dog always got the rest of my coffee :D

And my brother... He could barely speak, he was so young, when he used to stick his nose up the edge of the table and ask for coffee. And he used the "old people's word" for it (I don't know how to translate that in English) so it was pretty funny. But he grew up allright. AND there was no decaf stuff back at those days :D

Oh! You're funny! I can see her clearly through your description.

Maybe you can invent and patent a new tool for scraping children off ceilings through this experience? Useful on children who drink your coffee, eat too much sugar, and even those who took too long (or late) a nap!

I'd buy one.

I cracked up at "little Baby Redneck". I believe that's the funniest thing I've read to date.

If you do invent one of those spatulas, I'll be needing one in teen size.

I have never heard of a toddler liking coffee.....that is nuts. My 2 year old is fascinated by the making of coffee and by me carrying around my coffee cup and she likes to pretend her milk is coffee....but she won't try to actually drink mine. That is too funny...yeah, I'd stick with decaf! ;-)

Thanks for your comments on my blog. :-) It's fun to see new people. I'll add you to my bloglines so I can come back and visit. ;-)

I've been seeing you on Kristen's comments, so decided to come and check a bit. Love your style. My brother and fam are in OKC area, I went to SNU when it was BNC. So it's kind of a second home. Congrats on the weight loss! I'm working on it as well. I have the same problem with spending too much time on the computer - hubby is getting a bit annoyed. And that's where I was when the haircut incident took place (did you catch that one on Kristen's spot?)

I LOVED coffee when I was little. Of course, it was mostly milk, but, hey...

Found my way here via Pam (Pinnacles, Pitfalls and Pottychairs), and I have enjoyed reading through your posts. *Smile*
