Last week, I mirled and tirled and mirled again
First, the mirl (meet in real life): Actually it was a bonus mirl, on account of I had lunch with TWO fun, cool bloggin' mamas. The Happy Homemaker seemed to be all that and more. We grew up in the same state and excelled at playing the same wonderful instrument, so we were surprised that our paths hadn't crossed. So we chitted and chatted and figured out that our husbands have worked together. When she told me her husband's name, I remembered receiving a very nice plant from him 7+ years ago when I had Wonderboy. So I thanked her very much for the lovely plant. Small world!
Robin is as funny and sweet as you'd think from reading her blog. She's had some pretty impressive mirls, so I'm glad she could take the time to fraternize with myself, a mere mortal. She's gone from being a stay-at-home homeschool mom to a working, housebuilding, transplant Okie. That's a lot of change, and she's handling it with grace and no small amount of humor. We talked kids, pets, peeves and everything else.
Having lunch with these two ladies was the highlight of my week, and I wish to publicly thank them both for a delightful time. I hope we do it again soon.
And THEN I tirled (telephoned in real life) with Jules. We didn't so much talk as we cackled like two barnyard hens. I really thought one of us would flat lay an egg before we were finished. When we hung up, my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. I'll be in her city next month, so if you're out planting crocuses (crocusi?) in April and you hear high-decibel hysterical laughter coming from somewhere in the middle of the country, that'll be us.
And THEN, just the day after our lunch, Mr. Clem and I ran into Mr. & Mrs. Homemaker at a dinner honoring Oklahoma Citizen of the Year, General Thomas Stafford, the astronaut. Whoda thunk?
Life, my friends, is good.

Yes, it was good. I didn't even know I was mirling until I read about it here! I have mirled many times before, and have always enjoyed it. You really can tell a lot about a blogger by reading the blog, can't you? (Remember how I "knew" you guys as soon as I walked in the door?).
Someday I'll probably have a mirl and walk in to find I'm meeting my best friend or something. Of course, if we hadn't told each other about our blogs, it could be a bit awkward, couldn't it? Kinda like meeting up with your husband on a blind date or something.
Maybe I should just quit talking now.
Well, except to say that I am quite certain I would never meet my husband on a blind date...
I too can't believe you guys hadn't met before!!! Can't wait to do it again and maybe even at night?!
I guess I'm a rebel without a cause.
And Jan, here's hoping you never catch yourself or hubs on a blind date. Especially together. That might be a bit awkward and even more awkward to explain. =)
You have broadened my vocabulary. I thought mirl was a country singer. Anyway, I tagged you for a simple meme. Hope you want to play!
So jealous! I've never mirled or tirled before. Sigh...
